A 4.7 magnitude earthquake has struck the Naples area, considered the most powerful tremor recorded in the region in the last four decades.
The tremors were felt throughout the city, causing panic among residents. According to Italian authorities, 21 people were injured, two of them in serious condition.
The worst damage was reported in Pozzuoli, where two uninhabited buildings collapsed, while a pier suffered significant damage.
After the main earthquake, the area was hit by over 30 aftershocks, increasing the concern of residents. Due to the risk of further tremors, many families have spent the night outside their homes.
Italian authorities have continued checks on the affected buildings and infrastructure, while emergency teams remain on the ground to monitor the situation and ensure the safety of citizens.
