Football fans around the world have brought the so-called "Aaron Ramsey curse" back into focus following news of the death of renowned Italian fashion designer Giorgio Armani, just days after the Welshman scored a goal in Mexico.
The 34-year-old former Arsenal and Juventus midfielder, now known as a player for Liga MX team Pumas, scored in the final minutes of a match against Atlas, sparking celebrations in Mexico City. Just days later, media outlets reported the death of Giorgio Armani.
This case has led fans to revive the "curse theory", according to which every time Aaron Ramsey scores a goal, a few days later a world-famous figure dies.
A user on social network X wrote:
"Have a safe journey Giorgio Armani. You were a victim of Aaron Ramsey's curse in 2025."
Another commented: “Remember the Aaron Ramsey curse? Here it is again. The Welshman scored for Pumas on August 31, his first goal of the year, and today legendary designer Giorgio Armani passed away.” Others expressed skepticism, saying the connection between Ramsey’s goals and celebrity deaths is simply a strange coincidence, but for superstitious fans the phenomenon has now become part of “football mythology.”
