The official group draw for the 2026 FIFA World Cup will take place on December 5 at the Kennedy Center in Washington, US President Donald Trump announced during a meeting in the Oval Office with FIFA President Gianni Infantino.
"It is a great honor to host this global event and host these iconic athletes in the heart of our capital," Trump said.
He emphasized that each World Cup match will be similar to a Super Bowl and will represent the largest and most complex event in the history of sports.
"The football festival will bring an economic impact of $30 billion to the American economy," the US president added.
