Albania U-19 drew 1-1 against Italy in the second friendly match, held today at the “Novarello Sporting Center”. Coach Julian Ahmataj’s team showed character, reacting in the second half after the initial disadvantage.
Albania's starting lineup consisted of: Culi (GK), Avdullari, Gecaj, Sylejmani, Sina, Huqi, Shpuza, B. Krasniqi, Arifi (C), Malaj and L. Krasniqi.
Italy took the lead in the 28th minute through Andrea Orlani. During the first half, the Rossoneri lost two starters to injury – captain Arifi and defender Gecaj – who were replaced by El Malem and Mateo Dashi respectively. Krasniqi also played in the game.
Albania found the equalizer in the 60th minute, with a beautiful goal scored by Mateo Dashi. Coach Ahmataj then made two more substitutions, bringing on Lataj and Gashi.
The match ended 1-1, representing a significant improvement over the first friendly, which Albania lost 4-1. These challenges serve as preparation for the upcoming U-19 European Championship qualifiers, while the technical staff had the opportunity to test most of the available players.
