The Albanian national football team is experiencing a new phase of development in financial terms, with an increasing number of players entering the category of millionaire footballers - that is, those who receive an annual salary with at least six zeros after the main figure.
At the top of the list is Mario Mitaj, who currently plays for Saudi club Al Ittihad. The left-back earns 3 million euros per season, an amount that is made even more favorable due to the low level of taxes in Saudi Arabia. Mitaj has been one of the protagonists of the team in winning the championship title and the national cup.
Meanwhile, Armando Broja continues to maintain a high salary level, with 2.5 million euros per season, which he benefited from during his time at Chelsea, as well as during his loans to Fulham and Everton. With the possible transfer to Burnley, it is expected that his card will be valued at around 20 million pounds, while the details of the new contract are still to be confirmed.
Mirlind Daku, after the renewal with Rubin Kazan, is reported to have reached an annual salary of around 2 million euros, ranking among the highest paid players in the Russian championship.
Ardian Ismajli is also on the rise, who after transferring to Torino, has crossed the one million threshold, with a contract of 1.1 million euros per season, compared to his previous salary at Empoli, which was around 800 thousand euros.
One of the most experienced players on the national team, Elseid Hysaj, continues to maintain an important financial status at Lazio, where he receives a net salary of 2 million euros, while his gross salary reaches up to 3.7 million euros.
The list of Rossoneri with income over one million euros also includes:
Marash Kumbulla, with a contract of 1.7 million euros per season at Roma (around 3.3 million euros gross),
Kristjan Asllani, who according to his contract with Inter currently benefits from 1.2 to 1.4 million euros, with a progressive increase foreseen from the initial agreement in 2022,
Nedim Bajrami, the midfielder who at Glasgow Rangers benefits from an annual salary of around 1.15 million euros, according to reports from Scottish media.
This development shows the increasing value of Albanian players on the international market and the consolidation of their presence in elite European championships and beyond.
