The richest countries in the world for 2026, here's which country tops the

Europe continues to be one of the richest regions in the world, but today a country's wealth is not measured solely by how much its economy produces.

According to the analysis of the financial platform HelloSafe, a country is considered "rich" not only by high income, but also by the way its citizens live. In this ranking for 2026, Norway ranks first in the world.

The report emphasizes that the GDP per capita indicator is not enough to understand reality, because it does not show whether wealth is distributed fairly among people. A country may have very high economic figures, but this does not necessarily mean that its citizens live well.

A clear example is Ireland. It has a very high GDP per capita, but this is greatly influenced by the presence of large international companies.

HelloSafe has created a “Prosperity Index,” which combines several factors: average income, level of inequality, and social indicators such as health and quality of life. The goal is to measure not only wealth, but also the real well-being of people.

In this index, European countries dominate the rankings. Norway takes first place thanks to high incomes and a very balanced social system. It is followed by Ireland and Luxembourg, which also have strong economies and high standards of living.

The top list also includes countries like Iceland, which is valued for its human development and low poverty levels, as well as Singapore, which has very high incomes but is affected by the greatest social inequality.

Meanwhile, the United States ranks lower compared to Europe, largely due to higher inequality.

The report also shows that countries like France, Italy and Spain have more middle positions, due to lower incomes or social challenges, while some Eastern European countries have poorer results compared to the West.

In conclusion, the analysis emphasizes that today the concept of a "rich country" has changed. Economic production alone is not enough, but it is equally important how wealth is distributed and how well citizens live in everyday reality.
