The socialists' experiments with education had been going on for a long time, with nearly 7,000 experienced teachers, who graduated before 2017 and had been teaching in schools for at least 10 years, not only not receiving a salary increase, but on the contrary, their salaries were reduced.
They protested and despite the opposition joining them and bringing initiatives to the Assembly, they fell on deaf ears.
But recently, the Socialist Party has reflected, and has agreed to recognize the diplomas and qualifications of old teachers who did not graduate according to the Bologna system.
Former minister Evis Kushi has proposed a legal change, provided by VNA, that specifies how much the salary of senior teachers will increase, in accordance with their diplomas.
· 1,515 teachers with a 3-year diploma in primary education: €545,400/year .
· 4,646 teachers with a "Professional Master" degree: €1,115,040/year .
· 240 teachers with a "Master of Science" or "Professional Master" degree: €115,200/year .
· 360 teachers in FA, AMU and AML with pedagogical secondary education: €259,200/year .
The total financial effect for 6,761 teachers whose group salary has changed due to their degree level is estimated at a total of: €2,034,840/year .
However, the initiative does not provide for compensation for teachers for the time when their salary was reduced, and the difference that was not received until this law enters into force.
