The increase in the price of oil in the country is being directly reflected in intercity transportation. Travelers traveling from Librazhd to Tirana or other cities are now paying more for the ticket, which has gone from 500 lek to 700 lek per passenger, significantly increasing costs, especially for those who travel regularly.
Citizens say that affording prices has become increasingly difficult, while emphasizing that the increase in costs is not reflected in their income. They raise concerns about the lack of control over prices and warn that the situation is forcing many of them to consider emigrating.
On the other hand, bus owners say that the increase in fuel prices has significantly affected their operating costs. If previously the supply of diesel required around 50 thousand lek, today this amount has reached around 70 thousand lek, burdening their financial balance.
Transport operators also point out that the situation has been worsened by the decline in passenger numbers, which has led to a decrease in revenues and difficulties in covering basic expenses. According to them, this is leading them to take on debt and increases the risk of bankruptcy.
Other public transport operators also confirm that rising prices and falling demand are making it increasingly difficult to continue operating, putting the sector on the brink of a potential crisis.
The increase in fuel prices continues to have a direct impact on the daily lives of citizens, increasing pressure on households, while demands for concrete interventions from institutions remain on the rise.
