The future of Polish striker Robert Lewandowski at Barcelona continues to remain unclear, while Italian media report that Juventus have submitted a concrete offer to transfer him to Turin.
The 37-year-old's current contract with the Catalan club expires on June 30 and so far no agreement has been reached for a renewal, making his departure as a free agent during the summer transfer window increasingly likely.
Juventus have significantly stepped up efforts to secure the signature of the Polish veteran, offering him a one-year contract worth around 6 million euros net per season, plus bonuses linked to performances and sporting objectives.
According to reports, the offer was discussed during a meeting between the player's agent, Pini Zahavi, and the club's general director, Damien Comolli. Negotiations remain open and another round of talks is expected to take place in Italy in May to finalize the final details.
The Turin club appears optimistic about finalizing the deal and is willing to guarantee Lewandowski a starting role in the offensive department, a condition that is considered essential for the striker.
Lewandowski is seen as Juventus' main target for attack, so much so that the leaders have decided to temporarily suspend talks to renew Dusan Vlahovic's contract, which is also coming to an end.
At the same time, interest from Saudi Arabian clubs still remains a real option, with the player not ruling out the possibility of also considering a transfer outside of Europe.
On the other hand, Barcelona have put on the table a renewal offer with a lower salary, which according to reports is almost similar to that of Juventus. However, the main problem is not only related to the economic aspect, but also to the role that the Catalan club offers him.
At the 'Spotify Camp Nou', Lewandowski is no longer guaranteed a starting spot under coach Hansi Flick, which has contributed to his uncertainty about the future.
