Hoffenheim is not one of the traditional clubs in German football, but in the last two decades it has made a rapid ascent to the top flight. In the early 2000s, the team was playing in the fifth division, while in 2008 it secured promotion to the Bundesliga for the first time, where it has remained continuously since then.
The German club made its European debut in the 2017/18 season. Its only participation in the Champions League group stage was in the 2018/19 season, while it has been present in the Europa League in the 2020/21 and 2024/25 seasons.
Now, for the fifth time in its history, Hoffenheim has secured qualification for European competitions for the 2026/27 season. The team is guaranteed participation in the Europa League, while its ambitions do not stop there, as the main goal remains qualification for the Champions League.
Interest in the club has also increased thanks to the presence of three important Kosovo footballers: striker Fisnik Asllani, midfielder Leon Avdullahu and defender Albian Hajdari, who have become key elements of the German team.
