The Vetëvendosje Movement has failed in its next attempt to secure enough votes to elect the speaker of the Kosovo Assembly. Hekuran Murati, proposed for the second time, and Arbëria Nagavci, in her first candidacy for this position, did not receive the necessary support of 61 votes.
After the failure of two candidates, LVV, the winning party of the February 9 elections, proposed MP Dimal Basha as an alternative for the position of Speaker of Parliament.
Meanwhile, representatives of parties that were in opposition in the previous mandate once again spoke out against supporting any candidate from LVV. PDK MP Ganimete Musliu declared that she will not vote for any name proposed by this party, accusing LVV of holding the state hostage since the end of the elections.
This development occurred during the third continuation of the constitutive session of the Assembly, following the publication of the full judgment of the Constitutional Court on August 18.
