The Kosovo Assembly failed to be constituted even in today's constitutive session, with the election of the president of this institution failing again.
Following the publication of the full judgment of the Constitutional Court, which set a 30-day deadline for the constitution of the Assembly, voting was held for the two candidates proposed by the Vetëvendosje Movement.
The first candidate, Albulena Haxhiu, received 57 votes in favor, 56 against and 3 abstentions, a result that did not provide the necessary quorum. The same situation was repeated with the second candidate, Donika Gërvalla, who also received 57 votes in favor, 56 against and 3 abstentions.
After the failure of two attempts, the Speaker of the Assembly, Avni Dehari, declared the session closed and announced that the next session would be held on August 22, at 11:00.
