The peace between the Socialist Party and the Democratic Party in the Territorial Reform Commission has apparently been broken. The Co-Chair of the Commission, Arbjan Mazniku, stated that the experts from both sides have come with different reports. Given that time is limited, according to Mazniku, the experts should be heard and the session on the 23rd should be held with a report.
This stance of Maznik was opposed by the opposition. Eno Bozdo said that the majority is seeking to unilaterally vote on the territorial reform just as it did 10 years ago. Meanwhile, Ina Zhupa said that the procedure should be followed with the electoral reform commission, where the deadline will be extended, and an opinion should be obtained from the Venice Commission.
According to Zhupa, a territorial reform 2.0 would simply fail from the start. For Damian Gjiknuri, the commission had a goal to come up with a product and if an agreement is not reached, then decision-making will pass to parliament.
