The President of the European Democratic Students (EDS), Francesco Sismondini, joined the protest of Albanians in Brussels, organized in parallel with the rally in Tirana, where protesters demand the resignation of Prime Minister Edi Rama.
In his speech to the protesters, Sismondini expressed support for the civic movement in Albania, emphasizing that Albanian youth have become a source of inspiration for young people across Europe.
"Students, a new movement is emerging in Europe and we are here to support you, to bring the voice of young Europeans in support of the Albanian people and Albanian youth, which is inspiring us today," he said.
Sismondi said that young Europeans are facing similar challenges, facing governments that he described as authoritarian.
"We face authoritarian governments, dictatorships in every corner and in every aspect of our lives. Today, Albanian youth is the only one who is inspiring European youth. We are following the protests that have been going on for more than 40 days. Thank you. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Rama is gone! Thank you on behalf of the youth of Europe," he declared.
