The President of the Freedom Party, Ilir Meta, has reacted harshly to Judge Erjon Çela's decision to keep him in custody, describing it as a politically motivated act based on baseless accusations. Meta describes Çela as a "notary of SPAK", emphasizing that the decision is part of an unfair and manipulated process.
In his statement, Meta strongly rejects claims that his release would influence witnesses, noting that most of them are no longer part of the Freedom Party and some are even affiliated with the Socialist Party. He mentions specific names of former party members who are now in the opposing camp, and accuses them of trying to justify his political “hostage” by Edi Rama’s regime.
Meta underlines that this is a "public fraud" and warns that he will reveal all the fraud and manipulation behind the trial, which according to him is the "judicial farce of the century" with "zero evidence, zero criminal facts and zero witnesses against him."
He concludes by inviting the Freedom Party to escalate denunciations of the government's corrupt dealings and Edi Rama's "capture of justice."

It would not be worth it to publicly deal with Erjon Çela, who, although he is paid as a judge, is only acting as a SPAK notary for the third time, against me but also against the due process of law that he must guarantee as a judge.
But I cannot remain silent in the face of a brazen deception to write from him, according to the dictates of "Afërmendsh" (Altin Dumani), precisely the alibi that my release due to my function as President of the Freedom Party could lead to the intimidation of alleged witnesses, who are members of the Freedom Party.
I emphasize that apart from Mr. Petrit Vasili, none of the SPAK witnesses is a member of the Freedom Party today.
