Adriatik Lapaj and his supporters clashed again with State Police officers during the night. The cause of the intervention, as in previous cases, was an improvised tent covered with plastic, erected by the protesters to protect themselves from the cold at night.
According to Lapaj, police officers intervened by pulling down the tent's plastic and knocking chairs and other items belonging to the protesters to the ground.
Through a status on social media, Lapaj describes the police intervention as part of the operation that he ironically calls "Plastic".
"Last night at 00:57, a full 35 police officers showed up and seized the plastic of the improvised tent to protect us from the cold of the night, after they had received information that we were singing," Lapaj writes.
He ironizes the reason for the intervention, adding that the protest has entered its 37th day without interruption. "How could we sing on the 37th day of the protest without stopping? We should have left already... Edi Rama has other problems!" he says.
At the end of the reaction, Lapaj calls for a massive protest on Saturday, January 17, at 6:00 PM, in the square, "against Edi Rama and the gang he leads."
