News24 Television, Balkanweb, Gazeta Panorama and Gazeta Shqiptare have today been banned from carrying out their duty to report the news.
During the day, under the direction of Ardi Veliu, the administrator of the KAYO company, the News24 premises were surrounded by numerous forces, while the News24 TV broadcast signal was interrupted, and journalists were forcibly removed from the premises.
After several hours inside the media premises at Focus Media News and Panorama Group, the State Police have withdrawn from the media buildings.
The buildings have been taken under control by the Military Police, while Albania's most important news television station continues to have its signal turned off, as all staff, technicians, cameramen, journalists and media executives are not allowed to enter the building.
Media protection organizations, political figures, and law enforcement experts have reacted to this serious event, but the situation remains totally blocked.
