Renowned journalist, analyst and publicist Artur Zheji, one of the most prominent figures in Albanian media in the last three decades, passed away at the age of 63.
The son of the prominent linguist and scholar Petro Zheji and the well-known actress Besa Imami, he grew up in a family closely connected to Albanian culture and art. After studying directing at the Higher Institute of Arts, Zheji chose the path of journalism and publicism, where he left a strong mark with his analysis, opinions and courage to say what he thought.
He has held leadership positions at Albanian Radio Television and several print media outlets, while in recent years he became known especially for the show "360 Degrees", where he analyzed Albanian politics and society with his critical, sharp and often polemical style.
Artur Zheji will be remembered as a free and courageous voice of public opinion, an intellectual who openly defended his ideas and who influenced the shaping of the political and cultural debate in Albania.
