The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, has continued with new accusations against the police after the clashes in the last protest, while this time he said that Molotov cocktails were thrown at protesters from the terraces of institutions.
In a statement to the media, Berisha said that “grenades, highly dangerous chemicals, blinding devices and toxic substances” were thrown during the protest. He stressed that “there are also witnesses” to these actions.
The leader of the democrats' statement gives the impression that the protest was carried out by the police and not the opposition, but even though he claimed to have witnesses, he did not say that he would file a lawsuit with the prosecutor's office.
The leader of the Democrats promised again that the peaceful protests will continue, while he had not yet set a date for the next one.
Berisha is likely expecting a response from other opposition forces, given that he reiterated the call for them to unite in a front against the government he calls "drug control."
