Renowned moderator and singer Ardit Gjebrea appeared at the doors of SPAK this Friday. Not to present a festival, but to answer questions from BKH investigators as part of the investigation into the Erion Veliaj case.
It is learned that Gjebrea was asked about the funding that his company, "Jon Music", received from the Municipality of Tirana for organizing the "Magical Song" festival.
But what caught the eye was his exit from SPAK. With a smile on his face, Gjebrea looked as if he had just finished another successful edition of "Magic Song," rather than a questioning session in front of investigators.
In fact, for Gjebrea, the meeting with the prosecutors seemed to have gone so well that he was even invited to a television show. From the investigators' office, the conversation ended up at the studio of "Albanian Sunday".
"They were friendly. I also invited him to my program. Since 'Albanian Sunday' has a human column, why not. They invited me, I invited them. I behaved a bit like an amateur," he said, laughing.
In short, SPAK invited him to question him, while Gjebrea invited the prosecutors to have them on television. An exchange of invitations that you hardly encounter every day at the doors of a prosecutor's office.
But this friendly atmosphere reminded us of another character who once emerged from SPAK with the same calmness and consideration for prosecutors: Erion Veliaj.
Even the mayor of Tirana, in his first encounter with the special justice system, treated the prosecutors with admirable familiarity. He even went so far as to call them "colleagues."
Then, the story took a different turn. After the arrest, the former "colleagues" became the object of Veliaj's strong accusations.
Of course, Gjebrea is presented as a person with knowledge of the case and not as an accused. But beyond the procedural status, the contrast between the seriousness of the institution and the festive atmosphere of his statements could not go unnoticed.
In the end, it remains to be seen whether the prosecutors will accept the invitation to “Albanian Sunday.” Because, for one day, it seems that SPAK not only discussed “The Magic Song,” but also floated the idea of a new television column.
