The Head of the Special Prosecution Office, Klodian Braho, has provided new details regarding the arrest in France of Ermal Beqiri, a person wanted by SPAK.
During an informal meeting with journalists, Braho stated that Albanian authorities had information about Beqiri's whereabouts and that letters of request had been sent to the French side to carry out several investigative actions.
"SPAK had information and we had located it. We had sent a letter of request to France for some investigative actions. There will be an official announcement about this very soon," said Braho.
According to the head of SPAK, investigations have revealed that Ermal Beqiri not only has aircraft, but also other assets in France. He announced that the Special Prosecution had previously requested the seizure of these assets from the French authorities.
"We had previously requested from France the seizure of Ermal Beqiri's assets. There are not only planes there, there are also other assets," Braho declared.
Ermal Beqiri was arrested in France while flying a light civilian aircraft over the area where a nuclear power plant is located in Amiens. The incident attracted the attention of French authorities, and legal proceedings are ongoing against him as part of the SPAK investigation.
Meanwhile, regarding the reports on the "Albanian Files" case, Braho said that two materials have arrived at the Special Prosecution Office and are currently in the verification phase, without providing further details about their content.
