After the World Cup, Norwegian striker Erling Haaland has chosen Italy for his summer vacation. The Manchester City star arrived in Taormina, Sicily, with his partner, former Colombian footballer Isabel Haugseng Johansen, to attend the Dolce & Gabbana Alta Sartoria fashion show.
"I talked so much during the World Cup that I can barely speak now. I'm very happy to be here, but let me rest," Haaland briefly told reporters in his first public appearance in Italy after the tournament.
The 25-year-old immediately caught the attention of those present. Dressed entirely in white, with a gold and diamond brooch on his jacket and a pair of perforated blue slippers, Haaland was one of the most photographed characters of the evening.
According to Italian media, his Instagram profile has grown significantly in recent weeks, going from around 40 million to nearly 70 million followers, while his popularity has also increased thanks to viral memes and the image created off the field of play.
The article states that the Norwegian striker also owns a collection of Hermès Birkin bags, with an estimated value of around 750 thousand euros, while he recently bought a stuffed raccoon in the US, which he named ROW (Raccoon on Wheels) after a poll on Instagram.
Haaland is staying at the luxurious San Domenico Palace hotel in Taormina, where many Dolce & Gabbana guests are also staying. After the show, he stopped to take photos and greet fans and models in attendance.
Italian media report that the footballer is expected to spend a few days of rest in Sicily, likely aboard a yacht, before starting preparations for the new season.
