
The Special Court of Appeals decided to lift the security measure for Aurek Zarkas, former head of the Vlora prosecution office convicted in the Toyota Auris case.
Thus, Zarka leaves the Durrës detention facilities.
The Special Court found defendant Aurel Zarka guilty of corruption and unlawful influence in the "Toyota Auris" case and sentenced him to 4 years in prison, which was reduced to 2 years and 8 months of imprisonment upon application of the summary judgment.
The appeal upheld the decision, while the Supreme Court returned it for retrial.
Former judicial police officer Eriona Daupaj, lawyer Radovan Çela and businessman Astrit Vladi are also accused in the same case.
The Toyota Yaris file is related to the seizure of 3.4 million euros at the Port of Durres.
