The State Police has distributed an urgent and classified telegram to all local directorates in the country, officially acknowledging that the drug and weapons situation near schools has become a serious security problem.
The document, signed by the General Director of Police, Skënder Hita, speaks openly about events that occurred within and near educational institutions during the 2024-2025 school year, where students were caught with narcotics, cold weapons and other prohibited items, while some cases have brought consequences for life, health and normal learning activity.
But the strongest part of the document is the fact that the Police itself admits that the situation has worsened due to the "poor work" of its structures.

The telegram states that police structures:
have not provided timely information about drug distribution near schools, have not organized effective controls, and have cooperated poorly with school principals and security officers.
Precisely for this reason, the general directorate orders emergency measures throughout the country.
Criminal police agents will be deployed near schools, there will be surprise checks by anti-drug and operational forces, while the arrest of persons distributing drugs near educational institutions is required.
The document also calls for the intensification of special investigation methods, as well as the involvement of economic crime structures to stop the sale of prohibited products to minors.
The police warn that local leaders and officers who do not follow orders or neglect situations will face disciplinary action.

The telegram is one of the strongest documents of recent months, as for the first time the State Police itself directly admits not only the spread of drugs near schools, but also its failures to prevent the phenomenon in time.
