The Supreme Court rejected the appeal of Ervina Gjana, a senior State Police official, who requested the return of cell phones and other computer equipment seized by SPAK as part of the investigations that SPAK is conducting against the criminal group led by Ergys Agasi and Ermal Beqiri.
Gjana claimed that the seizure of the devices was done in violation of the law and therefore, they should be returned to her. But both the GJKKO and the Special Appeal dismissed her request. The searches in the apartment of the senior police officer, Ervina Gjana, and her cohabitant, Renato Hristic, were carried out by agents of the National Bureau of Investigation, who seized 8 mobile phones and laptops. Hristic had previously worked with Ergys Agas.
According to SPAK, Ergys Agasi and Ermal Beqiri ordered the kidnapping of rivals and pressured them to withdraw from AKSH tenders. The two businessmen are wanted, former AKSH director Mirlinda Karcanaj is under house arrest, while the other suspects are under lighter preventive measures.
