Lulzim Berisha and Durim Bami were transferred this Wednesday to the High Security Prison in Peqin, after being suspected of violating security rules within the institutions where they were held.
It is learned that their transfer from the detention institutions in Durrës and Fushë Krujë was carried out for security reasons, as there was confidential information that the detainees could have access to mobile phones or other prohibited items in their cells.
Following this information, prison leaders have ordered their transfer to the High Security Prison in Peqin, an institution considered to have the highest level of control and supervision.
Meanwhile, in recent weeks, the General Directorate of Prisons has intensified operational controls in penitentiary institutions across the country, as part of measures to strengthen security and prevent illegal activities inside cells.
During the searches, prohibited items were seized, including improvised cutting tools, mobile phones and smart watches, which were allegedly being illegally held by prisoners in various penitentiary institutions.
