In the Special Court in the criminal trial against the defendants Amar Shkëmbi and Bledar Polovina, accused of the assassination attempt on the Shkozet overpass on November 1, 2019 with 1 killed and two injured, citizen AM testified. The witness is the father of the minors who found the abandoned car of the perpetrators of the mafia assassination in the village of Shkafanë, where the Durrës prosecutor at the time Arjan Ndoj and his friend Aleksandër Laho, known as Rrumi, were injured, while the driver Andi Maloku was killed. Traces of Redjan Rraja, who acted as the executioner in the incident and has been sentenced to life imprisonment, were also discovered on the evidence found in the vehicle.
"Two of the children have fled Albania, they are outside in the camp. I will take my wife and the other child, I will leave too. They have also raped me at the police station, another day they hit me on the head with a crowbar. In the village they call me a SPAK spy, they have even followed me in expensive cars. I am not safe here, I am not sure that I can take a bullet," the witness declared.
During the hearing, Judge Paulin Cera instructed the witness to file a report with SPAK regarding the threats he claimed to have received, while Prosecutor Adnand Xholi stated that he would make BKH investigators available to follow up on his concerns. The witness reconfirmed that he had decided to leave Albania.
A life sentence has been requested for the leader of the criminal group, Plarent Dervishaj, for organizing the mafia assassination.
