Dozens of business representatives gathered today in front of the Vlora Municipality, requesting a meeting with Mayor Brunilda Mersini, regarding actions to demolish structures on the eve of the summer tourist season.
In an official request to the municipality, the Aulona Regional Tourist Association (ARTA) requests an extension of the intervention deadline until the end of September.
"We are here to protest so that our business is not harmed this season. The season is opening and there is talk of immediate demolition. We want a solution from the institutions, at least to be informed about the projects and how we should act. We have many employees who depend on these businesses. Today we are few, but tomorrow we will be more. Our livelihood is being played with," said one of the business representatives.
According to them, interventions during this period significantly harm economic activity, as structures such as tents, pergolas, and additional facilities are part of their investments for the season.
They emphasize that Vlora relies mainly on tourism and seek dialogue with institutions to find a solution that does not harm local business.
