The Port of Durres has banned the entry into the port of the tanker "Hanuman", a ship sailing under the flag of Sierra Leone and listed by the Ukrainian Defense Intelligence Agency (GUR) as part of the so-called Russian "shadow fleet".
According to the announcement, the decision was made on August 28, denying entry to the ship with IMO number 9295048.
In the GUR database, the "Hanuman" is classified as one of the ships involved in the transport of Russian oil and its products, in violation of the embargo imposed by the G7 countries and the European Union, as well as the maximum price limit policy, known as the "price cap".
According to data published by the Ukrainian service, in September 2025 the tanker transported more than 30 thousand tons of Russian oil products from the port of Novorossiysk to Turkey.
GUR also reports cases where the ship has turned off its automatic identification system (AIS), as well as its entry into Russian ports. Published data on the movements of the "Hanuman" also includes the Port of Durres among the destinations visited earlier.
The detention of the tanker by the Durres Port Authority comes at a time when the maritime transport of Russian oil through so-called "shadow fleets" is under increased international attention, due to attempts to circumvent sanctions imposed on Moscow.
