Socialist MP Erion Braçe has publicly admitted that an internal war is taking place within the Socialist Party, stating that there are people who aim to eliminate him politically. He also blamed the publication in the media of debates and messages from parliamentary group meetings, which, according to him, are used to humiliate him.
Invited to the show "Noë" with Erla Mëhilli, Braçe said that the release of closed-door discussions is not a coincidence, but part of an effort to remove him from politics.
"They are releasing the messages because they intend to humiliate me. It is to release it to kill the other person politically. The one who released this seeks to remove from the internal field of the Parliamentary Group a person whom they consider a competitor," said Braçe.
He also cited as an example the publication of a message he had sent to the parliamentary group after the egg attack on several Socialist MPs, saying that the same thing was used against him.
However, when asked directly whether Prime Minister Edi Rama is behind this internal war, Braçe categorically denied it.
"No, it's not," he replied.
Braçe's statements come after weeks of debates and clashes from the meetings of the Socialist parliamentary group have been published in the media. The MP blames the media for publishing them, even though they are about political developments of public interest and not state secrets. If his concern is who is leaking information from the meetings, the answer, if there is one, lies within the parliamentary group itself. But, although he admits that there is an attempt to remove him from politics, Braçe excludes any responsibility from the SP chairman. A stance that recalls the well-known expression of the dictatorship: "Comrade Enver doesn't know anything, Mehmeti did it with his own head."
