A serious incident has shocked Italy, where a 58-year-old man has been arrested by authorities on suspicion of killing his 86-year-old mother and then hiding her body.
According to Italian media, the incident took place in the area near Palazzina di Caccia, in Turin, where the body of the elderly woman was found buried in a forest. The 86-year-old had been reported missing for about a month. Her disappearance was reported by an acquaintance, who had lost contact with her and was alarmed by the lack of communication.
After the investigation began, Italian police questioned her son, who initially stated that his mother had died of natural causes and that he had buried the body. However, during questioning, the 58-year-old changed his testimony and admitted that he had killed his mother.
According to his statements, the motive for the crime was related to the fear of losing the old woman's pension, which, according to him, was his only source of income.
Authorities are continuing their investigations to fully clarify the circumstances and motives of the incident, while an autopsy is expected to determine the exact cause of the 86-year-old's death.
