Albulena Haxhiu has been elected Speaker of the Assembly of Kosovo upon the proposal of the Vetëvendosje Movement.
Haxhiu received 66 votes in favor, while 44 deputies voted against and 8 abstained.
Also in today's session, the 118 deputies present at the constitutive session of the Assembly of Kosovo were sworn in.
After verifying the mandates for the new deputies, it is now expected to proceed with the oath and other items on the agenda of the constitutive session.
This verification was done with the vote of 118 deputies present. Of the 120 deputies who will make up the tenth legislature, 100 will be from Albanian parties, while the other 20 seats are reserved for minorities.
The Vetëvendosje Movement has secured 57 seats in the Assembly.
