According to a report Wednesday by The Wall Street Journal, the Pentagon has ordered a second aircraft carrier strike group to be put on standby to deploy to the Middle East, as the US military prepares for the possibility of an attack on Iran.
Official sources say an aircraft carrier is expected to depart within two weeks, most likely from the east coast of the US. The aircraft carrier USS George HW Bush is currently completing a series of exercises off the coast of Virginia and, according to sources, there is a possibility that the departure procedures will be accelerated.
