US President Donald Trump stated that the United States is conducting negotiations with Iran for a possible agreement, emphasizing that Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Vice President JD Vance are also involved in these talks.
"We are negotiating with Iran. Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Vice President JD Vance, among others, are involved in these talks. Iran wants a deal," Trump said.
He added that talks are taking place with "the right people" and that Tehran is very interested in reaching an agreement.
"We're talking to the right people and they want to make a deal at any cost. You have no idea how much they want this," the US president said, also claiming a "great success" for the US in Iran.
Meanwhile, according to the Axios portal, the United States and international mediators are considering the possibility of holding a high-level peace meeting with Iran that could be held as early as Thursday.
However, sources say that a response from Tehran is currently awaited to confirm whether it will participate in these talks.
