US Secretary of State Marco Rubio met with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Jerusalem, where they prayed together at the Western Wall, The Times of Israel reports.
Netanyahu said Rubio's visit demonstrates the strength of US-Israeli relations, describing them as "as strong and enduring as the stones of the Wailing Wall that we just touched."
"Under [US] President Donald Trump and Secretary Rubio, this alliance has never been stronger, and we deeply appreciate that," Netanyahu said.
Rubio, who had earlier stated that the US was "not pleased" with Israel's latest attack on Doha but that it "will not change the nature" of US-Israeli relations, did not speak to the media in Jerusalem, according to the newspaper.
