The Kosovo Special Prosecution Office has filed an indictment against former OSCE official in Kosovo, Jelena Djukanovic, on suspicion of espionage.
Djukanovic is accused of obtaining and distributing sensitive documents and information for the Intelligence and Security Agency of the Republic of Serbia (BIA) until February 28 of this year, when he was arrested.
She is accused of receiving instructions from convicted spy Aleksandar Vlajic.
"The defendant, who held the position of "National Program Officer" at the OSCE Regional Center in the Mitrovica Region, is accused of having obtained and distributed sensitive documents and information in the interest of the BIA. These actions, according to the Prosecution, have violated the constitutional order and national security of Kosovo, as well as have endangered the lives and safety of state officials, citizens and international OSCE personnel in Kosovo. J.G., from her position in the OSCE, and the instructions she received from the now convicted spy AV, during official meetings and the compilation of OSCE reports, for the reflection of the political and security situation in Kosovo, also contributed to the creation of a hostile narrative towards the security institutions, statehood and integrity of the Republic of Kosovo," the indictment states, the Special Prosecution announced.
According to evidence obtained during the investigation, it is suspected that Djukanovic transmitted the information obtained to senior BIA officials, namely RG, BIA's head for the Novi Pazar region, and LB.
He is suspected of meeting LB in Belgrade.
"According to the evidence obtained during the investigations, the information obtained by J.GJ was transmitted to senior BIA officials, namely RG, BIA's head for the Novi Pazar Region in Serbia, and official LB, with whom the defendant met on several occasions in Belgrade, Serbia. The Special Prosecution has proposed to the Court the extension of the detention measure, and after the judicial review, the defendant be found guilty of the criminal offense charged against her and a sentence imposed on her in accordance with the laws in force," the Special Prosecution announced./koha.net
