In an official statement, Hamas announced that it is ready to reach a comprehensive agreement to end the war and release all Israeli hostages.
"We are ready to accept a comprehensive agreement, under which all enemy prisoners currently held will be released, in exchange for an agreed number of Palestinian prisoners held by Israel, as part of an understanding that will lead to an end to the war in the Gaza Strip," Hamas wrote in a statement.
“This agreement will include: the complete withdrawal of the occupying forces from the entire Strip; the opening of crossings for the entry of all goods and the needs of the population; and the beginning of a reconstruction process. Furthermore, the movement reiterates its readiness to form an independent national government composed of technocrats, which will comprehensively manage the affairs of the Gaza Strip and immediately assume all responsibilities in all areas.
"We are still awaiting Israel's response to the proposal presented by the mediators on August 18, a proposal which was accepted by the Palestinian movement and factions," Hamas wrote.
