Large protests have spread to cities across the United States, including Minneapolis, New York City, San Francisco, Boston, Providence and Los Angeles, following the killing of 37-year-old Alex Pretti by federal immigration agents. The demonstrations come a day after thousands of protesters marched in Minneapolis to oppose the actions of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
Protesters have braved freezing temperatures to demand justice for Pretti and to express their displeasure at the harsh enforcement measures by federal authorities. In many cities, crowds have chanted slogans against ICE and held signs demanding changes to immigration policies.
In Minneapolis, demonstrators have also gathered at the scene of the incident, lighting candles and demanding accountability from authorities. The incident has sparked a national debate about the use of force by federal agents and the role of ICE in American communities.
