A speleological expedition to the "Sterra e Kujunxhiut" cave, within the Llogara National Park, has discovered a cavity about 70 meters deep, almost completely vertical, making it one of the most interesting recent discoveries in the area.
According to the expedition members, a large pile of stones was encountered at the end of the cave, which is suspected to have blocked the continuation of the gallery, leaving open the possibility that the cave could extend even further.
During the exploration, the presence of a large number of wild animal bones was also found, including wild boar, deer, wolf, fox and other species, which makes the discovery of not only speleological, but also scientific interest.
Experts are expected to conduct further expeditions to determine whether the cave has a continuation beyond the stone blockage, as well as to document its geological, biological and natural characteristics. The discovery is considered an important opportunity for further studies on the natural heritage of the Llogara National Park.
