Iran's President Masoud Pezeshkian declared on Saturday that his country will never surrender, as the Iranian military continues to exchange attacks with Israel and retaliatory actions in several Gulf countries.
Pezeshkian's statement came a few days after Donald Trump's speech, who said the US would not negotiate with Tehran without its "unconditional surrender."
In a state-televised speech, Pezeshkian said: “They will take their dreams of our unconditional surrender with them to the grave.”
Since Ali Khamenei's assassination a week ago, a three-person ruling council has held power in the country until a successor is named. The council includes Pezeshkian, the hardline head of the judiciary, Gholamhossein Mohseni Ejei, and senior cleric Alireza Arafi.
