The Israeli army has issued another evacuation warning for residents south of Beirut, announcing military operations expected to take place in the coming hours in the Lebanese capital.
Israeli army spokesman Avichay Adraee stated that the Israel Defense Forces will operate in the Haret Hreik and Burj al-Barajneh areas, as well as in a compound located south of the Damascus Highway.
He urged residents of these areas to leave immediately and move east along the highway for their safety.
According to the Israeli military, the operations are targeting the Iranian-backed Hezbollah group. The IDF warned that anyone near Hezbollah operatives, facilities or weapons is "risking their lives."
Earlier in the night, the Israeli military had also warned of strikes on the southern suburbs of Beirut, in the area known as Dahieh. Verified images also show damage from airstrikes in the Tallet el Khaya neighborhood in west Beirut, where several floors of a high-rise building are engulfed in flames.
