The UN General Assembly today overwhelmingly adopted a declaration supporting the two-state solution between Israel and Palestine, excluding Hamas from the process.
The resolution received 142 votes in favor, 10 against, and 12 abstentions. The document envisions “tangible, time-limited, and irreversible” steps toward the creation of two states.
The declaration is the product of an international conference held in July at UN headquarters, organized by Saudi Arabia and France, to address the decades-old conflict. The US and Israel boycotted the conference.
