United States President Donald Trump said he believes with a "high degree of certainty" that police have arrested the suspect in the murder of 31-year-old conservative activist Charlie Kirk.
"I think we have it," Trump said during an interview on "Fox and Friends" this morning.
According to the US president, a person "very close" to the suspect has turned him in to police. Trump added that authorities will make an official announcement regarding the arrest soon.
He did not provide details about the identity of the arrested person, but stressed that further updates are expected throughout the day.
The arrest follows a two-day manhunt for the perpetrator of Kirk's murder, who was fatally shot in the neck during a university event in Utah on Wednesday.
