The FBI has offered a $100,000 reward for anyone who provides information leading to the identification and arrest of the person or persons responsible for the murder of Charlie Kirk.
A police update on the search, scheduled for 7:45 p.m. UK time (2:45 p.m. US time), has been postponed due to the rapidly changing situation, officials said.
This update came just over two hours after the FBI released two photographs of a "person of interest" and announced a $100,000 (around £74,000) reward for anyone providing information leading to the arrest of the killer.
The low-quality photo shows a white man wearing sunglasses, a baseball cap and a black T-shirt that appears to have the American flag and an eagle printed on it.
Kirk, 31, was shot and killed Wednesday while giving a speech to a crowd of 3,000 at Utah Valley University.
According to the FBI, the shooter fired a single bullet from the roof of a campus building, about 180 meters away from Kirk, and then fled on foot toward a nearby neighborhood.
