Iran's military command, the Revolutionary Guard, said today that the world should be prepared for the possibility of oil prices reaching $200 a barrel, as three more ships were attacked in the Persian Gulf and the blockaded Strait of Hormuz.
Iran opened fire on Israel and targets across the Middle East on Wednesday, demonstrating that it can still counterattack and disrupt energy supplies despite the most intense US-Israeli attacks to date.
Iran will move from "mutual strikes" to sustained attacks on its rivals and the US will not be able to control oil prices, the spokesman for Iran's Revolutionary Guard said today.
"We will not allow even a liter of oil to reach the US, the Zionists (Israel) and their collaborators. Any ship or tanker destined for them will be a legitimate target," stressed Ebrahim Zolfaqari.
