An incident was recorded after midnight at the residence of United States Vice President JD Vance, in the East Walnut Hills neighborhood of Cincinnati, US authorities announced.
The incident occurred at his home on William Howard Taft Drive, while the US Secret Service requested the intervention of local police at around 00:15, after agents noticed a person moving rapidly in the area.
According to an official statement, the suspect broke several windows in the apartment and was later detained by Secret Service agents. No injuries were reported.
"The U.S. Secret Service is cooperating with the Cincinnati Police Department and the U.S. Attorney's Office as decisions to file charges are reviewed," the statement said, according to American media.
Authorities explained that Vice President Vance and his family were not at the residence at the time of the incident, as they were out of town.
Investigations to fully elucidate the circumstances of the incident continue.
