In an interview with the American media, The Atlantic magazine stated that Delcy Rodríguez must obey the US demands.
The US president's statement came during a telephone interview in which Trump issued a not-so-veiled threat to Venezuela's new leader, Delcy Rodríguez, saying that "if she doesn't do the right thing, she's going to pay a very big price, maybe even bigger than Maduro," referring to Nicolás Maduro, who is currently in a New York City jail cell. Trump made it clear that he would not accept what he described as Rodríguez's defiant rejection of the US armed intervention that led to Maduro's capture.
During our call, Trump, who had just arrived at his West Palm Beach golf club, was visibly in good spirits and reaffirmed to me that Venezuela may not be the last country to be subjected to American intervention. “We need Greenland, absolutely,” he said, describing the island — part of Denmark, a NATO ally — as “surrounded by Russian and Chinese ships.” And, discussing Venezuela’s future, he signaled a clear departure from his previous aversion to regime change and state-building, dismissing the concerns of many of his supporters in the MAGA base. “You know, rebuilding there and regime change, whatever you want to call it, is better than what you have now. It can’t get any worse,” he said./The Atlantic
