Palestinian families in Khan Younis in the Gaza Strip try to return to their damaged homes, seeking protection from torrential rain and flooding.
As temperatures dropped and rainwater flooded the displacement camps, many families began building small shelters on top of the rubble using stones and mud.
Mohammad Al-Shaer, whose home was destroyed in the attacks, said living in tent camps has become extremely difficult after rainfall flooded their shelters.
He added that families are using stones collected from the rubble to build temporary structures, hoping that construction materials would be allowed into the area.
Umm Imad, who lives in the camp with her grandchildren, said she lost three children in the attacks and that another child was detained. She says families were left with no choice but to live in tents, while homes across the area were destroyed.
According to the Gaza Health Ministry, more than 390 people have been killed and over 1,060 injured in Israeli ceasefire violations in the enclave since October 10.
Israel has killed nearly 70,700 Palestinians, mostly women and children, and injured over 171,000 in attacks on the Gaza Strip since October 2023, which have continued despite the ceasefire. /TRT World/
