A video shared on social media from Bondi Beach in Sydney, Australia, documents the moment a citizen intervenes calmly and courageously, disarming one of the perpetrators of the armed attack where at least 12 victims and 29 injuries have been reported so far.
According to local media, his action prevented further loss of life. Footage shows that as one of the suspects opened fire near a parking area on Campbell Parade, the passerby approached him cautiously, using parked vehicles as cover.
When he was at close range, he jumped on the perpetrator, knocked him to the ground, and after a physical struggle managed to take his weapon, neutralizing him. Then, pointing the weapon at him, he forced him to retreat towards a bridge, where a second accomplice was suspected to be.
Authorities confirm that one of the perpetrators has been arrested and is in critical condition, while the second was killed during police intervention.
