Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni has stated that Italy is not part of the conflict and has no intention of getting involved in the war. In a response published on the X platform, she stressed that the Italian government is committed to protecting the country's security and supporting any peace efforts.
"The government is committed to protecting the security of Italy and its citizens and to supporting any initiative aimed at seeking peace," Meloni wrote in her post.
She clearly emphasized that Italy would not be involved in the conflict.
"Italy is not part of the war and does not intend to enter it," the Italian prime minister said in a video released along with the message.
Meloni also announced that he has held talks with other European leaders to avoid escalating the situation, including French President Emmanuel Macron, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer.
"I had a discussion with Macron, Merz and Starmer to avoid further escalation. We are working, as much as possible, to reduce tensions and to see if there is still a possibility to resume negotiations," Meloni stressed.
